2QR: the natural alternative to antibiotics?

During the 80’s Dr. Annelize Goedbloed was involved in Clinical Research. She is a medical biologist with a passion for nature and an incredible open mind. Already then she recognized the extreme danger in the over-use of antibiotics: not only in building resistance but especially in the use for wrong indications and the great negative impact on the all important human microflora resulting in many side-effects.

Of course antibiotics have their place in the world of medicine and in case of severe infections they can be a great medicine. BUT, how often are infections serious enough to require the ‘hit and run’ solution of antibiotics?  Can’t we recognize the bacterial problem before it turns into a flagrant infection? In most cases we can. In such cases, we need an alternative. A better treatment that is very effective and safe, has a direct effect on bothersome symptoms and does not have limitations.

That is when we came up with the idea of ‘bio-active remedies’ and so Annelize and Floris started on a mission back in 1989, the birth of BioClin. The Medical Faculty of the Free University of Amsterdam joined our efforts in 1993. It took another 5 years of hard work and research until we finally made the breakthrough: the discovery of the 2QR-complex with its unique mode of action. After another 4 years we were able to get the worldwide patents on this wonderful discovery. 

Recently we have finalized a large clinical study in which the efficacy of antibiotic treatment for vaginal infections was compared to our 2QR-based Multi-Gyn ActiGel. Guess what: ActiGel was directly comparable in efficacy and in the long run offered even better results.
